As a side note, the lace-up tennis shoe is the brand's very first success. But above all, it's Serge Bensimon's best magic trick. In 1978, the Bensimon family received 100,000 white gymnastics tennis shoes from the French army. Serge dyed these tennis shoes. After extensive research and a long development process, he perfected a technique capable of coloring the canvas without bleeding onto the rubber. Inspired by this experience, Serge imagined a new model: the famous lace-up tennis shoe. Iconic, timeless, classic, essential... The lace-up tennis shoe is like a white shirt: everyone should have (at least) one pair in their wardrobe. A model that hasn't aged a day since 1979 and is still passed down from generation to generation. This color is one of the permanent ones: that is to say, it goes with everything and has no expiration date.
